Blepharoplasty – Eyelid Cosmetic Surgery
Blepharoplasty is the cosmetic surgery for eyelids. You may begin to notice the appearance of your face is not as good-looking as it used to be as you grow older. For those that are finding that their older age is bringing a disappointment to their look, they can consider cosmetic surgery to help correct the problems.
Eyelid Surgery is one of the possible types of cosmetic surgery. It is also known as a blepharoplasty. This will help bring out the normal color in your eyes and allow you to feel better about the appearance of your face.
Causes Of Bags Under The Eyes
A blepharoplasty will focus on the bags that grow under your eyes as well as the swollen eyelids that have become a part of your facial features. These are usually a result of genetics that appear as one begins to age.
Swollen and sunken eyelids may also be a result of strain that has affected the skin in this area. The skin in these areas will begin to lose their firmness, particularly in areas where the skin is thinner.
Therefore, the eyelids will begin to form wrinkles and fatty pads underneath them. You will be removing the extra skin and fat that is around an area that is causing the changed appearances, when you decide to get a blepharoplasty.
Procedure Of Blepharoplasty Surgery
Eyelid cosmetic surgery is known to be a minor surgery that is performed. In order to remain relaxed and sleepy during the procedure, you will first be put under an anesthesia. The surgeon will then make an incision into the eyelid area where there seems to be excess skin or fat.
They can then remove the extra parts that are around the eyelids. The cut that was made will then be stitched together to complete the blepharoplasty surgery. Most of the time, there is also enough measurements and technology used to make sure that this procedure will not affect the rest of the eye.
Post Blepharoplasty Surgery
You can expect that gauze will be placed over the eyes for a short period to make sure the stitches stay in place and the proper healing occurs after a blepharoplasty surgery. You can also expect bruising and swelling to be a part of the after affects. However, this is not serious and will go away in a period of one or two weeks.
Usually, until three days or one week after the blepharoplasty procedure stitches will not be removed, allowing the eyelid to recover. You should be able to move back to your normal activities after one-week time.
For those that have bags under their eyes, swelling around their eyelids or wrinkles that have occurred around their eyes from excess skin, they can consider a blepharoplasty to get a younger look.
This will allow one to take away the affects that occur with age and will allow them to feel better about their appearance. Blepharoplasty is a common procedure that is known to be efficient in allowing those who have aged to begin to look younger in appearance.
