Septoplasty Surgery For The Nose
Septoplasty surgery is a surgical procedure to correct the shape of the septum of the nose. Cosmetic surgery is most popularly known for helping to improve someone’s looks.
With the help of cosmetic surgery, specific body part will be focused on and readjusted to give them a different appearance. However, birth defect or injury that has resulted in reshaping the face can also be improved with cosmetic surgery. Septoplasty is one of the well-known surgeries for helping to solve this problem.
Nasal Septum Septoplasty Recovery
Cosmetic surgery that focuses on the nose is septoplasty. Normally, the nose will have a separation between the two sides. This separation is made of cartilage and bone. It will often be referred to as the nasal septum. A Septoplasty will be a form of cosmetic surgery for the nasal septum, which causes problems with breathing.
Other Abnormalities
Cosmetic surgery can also used to remove the problem of other nose abnormalities. A polyp or tumor may move into the area of the nose, which will cause larger problems.
The ethmoid bone, which is part of the nasal cavity, may not be centered and cause difficulties with normal breathing. Often, cosmetic surgery will be used to treat these types of nasal surgeries as it removes a different area of the nose, however, they are the same as a Septoplasty.
You may decide if you need cosmetic surgery to the nose in several different ways. It may be because the bone and cartilage area is not centered, you may feel hard to breathe through nose. This may also lead to nosebleeds or headaches more often than normal.
From an injury or another surgery that was done on your nose nasal septum may also have become irregular. All of these will lead to getting an examination to see if the nasal septum is off.
Your doctor can also find out if you have any other abnormalities in the nose from a first examination, allowing you to decide if you need another cosmetic surgery.
Septoplasty Surgery Procedure
The nasal septum will be straightened out to allow normal functioning, when you get a Septoplasty. The cosmetic surgeon will numb the tissue around the nose after you are put under an anesthesia.
They will then make an incision into the nasal septum area. Taking the membrane that is attached to the nasal septum away from the bone area is the next step. The doctors will then be able to see which part of the nose is not centered and remove the bone.
This will be replaced with plastic surgery procedures, which will allow the nasal septum to become straight and allow for easier breathing. This same procedure will be followed for other complications, however, the focus will be on the area that needs removed or replaced.
You can easily fix the problem with cosmetic surgery procedures, if you have complications with breathing, or if it has been determined that a part of your nose is not balanced. Getting a Septoplasty or other reconstructive cosmetic surgery will help in moving you back to the normal functioning of breathing properly.
